Canadian Officers Find IED, Weapons at Traffic Stop

Edmonton, Alberta, police found an improvised explosive device inside a vehicle Thursday morning during a traffic stop in the west side of the city.

Edmonton, Alberta, police found an improvised explosive device inside a vehicle Thursday morning during a traffic stop in the west side of the city.

Police pulled over a Chevrolet Malibu in the area of 180 St. and Stony Plain Rd. after determining the vehicle was suspicious.

All four people inside the vehicle were arrested for drug-related charges. During a search of the vehicle police discovered a homemade IED, weapons, ammunition, and a homemade firearm, Global News reports.

The Edmonton police Bomb Unit was called to the scene and destroyed the IED.
