VIDEO: Milwaukee Police Hunt for Lion

Milwaukee residents were concerned on Saturday when many claimed to have spotted a ‘lion-like animal’ and police closed several streets while they searched.

Milwaukee police and the Department of Natural Resources responded to the area, but no animal was located. Police did maintain a presence overnight though.

Residents said they saw a lion and her cub on Saturday morning, Fox 8 reports.

The Milwaukee zoo confirmed that all of their lions were accounted for.

“Ranger Grossheim responded Sunday morning to a distress call from park visitors near Birch Cove Island. After taking a family of three aboard his National Park Service boat, the vessel overturned amid high winds and rough waters," NPS said.

National Park Service Ranger Kevin Grossheim died Sunday while trying to rescue a family in distress on a Minnesota lake. His boat capsized in rough waters. The family was rescued but Grossheim drowned.
