VIDEO: First Dog Certified to Sniff Out Prescription Drugs Has Died
The Warren County (OH) Sheriff's Department has lost a first-of-its-kind police dog.
K-9 Kash, a 6-year-old Belgian Malinois, was diagnosed with cancer late last year but continued to work until July. He was the first in the United States certified to sniff out prescription drugs. Kash also could detect other narcotics and track down suspects, reports WCPO.
Kash and his partner, Deputy Brian Lewis, are credited with helping in hundreds of busts. The K-9 died with his partner at his side.
