A Fort Wayne, IN, man who police said broke into a home, stabbed two people, then lit part of the home on fire during an incident that left a Fort Wayne police officer in a medically induced coma has been formally charged with a slew of felonies.

A Fort Wayne, IN, man who police said broke into a home, stabbed two people, then lit part of the home on fire during an incident that left a Fort Wayne police officer in a medically induced coma has been formally charged with a slew of felonies.
Justin D. Pease, 31, was charged Tuesday with burglary involving serious bodily injury, a Level 1 felony; Level 2 felony count of arson resulting in serious bodily injury; two Level 3 felony counts of arson resulting in bodily injury; a Level 4 felony count of arson that damages property of another; battery by means of a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony; and criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, a Level 6 felony.
Fort Wayne Officer Boyce Ballinger was injured by smoke inhalation in the incident. Police spokesman Michael Joyner told NewsChannel 15 he was in a medically induced coma.
