Video: Alabama Deputy Shot Serving Papers in Florence
A Lauderdale County (AL) Sheriff's deputy was shot in the city of Florence Wednesday evening. Randall McCrary was flown to Huntsville Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is in intensive care.
A Lauderdale County (AL) Sheriff's deputy was shot in the city of Florence Wednesday evening. Randall McCrary was flown to Huntsville Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is in intensive care.
The shooting happened about 6 p.m. north of the campus of the University of North Alabama.
The suspect, Timothy Vincent Murphy, was also shot and taken to Huntsville Hospital. He had surgery and is recovering, and is expected to survive, WHNT TV reports.
Investigators say McCrary and another deputy served court papers at a home. They say when they approached the house gunshots were exchanged. Authorities have not said if there was anyone else inside the home other than Murphy.
