Pasco, FL, deputies were dispatched to a cow in distress. When they arrived to the scene, they found that a cow was on the verge of drowning in a lake, reports WTSP.
Officers say that the female cow was on the verge of dying from collapsing in the water. They worked to pull the cow out of the lake using ropes. Once she was on the ground, they realized that she was pregnant and in apparent shock. At the time, it looked like there was no way of saving the cow and that she was going to die. But officers consulted a vet and were able to stabilize her before the owner returned.
The cow is expected to give birth to her calf soon.
