Memphis Police are on heightened alert after the brother of a suspect killed during an officer-involved shooting Wednesday called a local precinct, identified himself, and said he was going to kill police officers.
All officers were told to double up on patrol tonight, meaning two officers to each car.
On Wednesday, officers had just called off a car chase on South Parkway when the suspects they were chasing crashed into two vehicles.
The suspects reportedly jumped out of the car and the officers gave pursuit on foot. One of the suspects opened fire on the officers, and an exchange of gunfire took place. One suspect was killed, while the other managed to escape, WREG TV reports.
