VIDEO: Killing of Michigan Deputy and Wife Appears to be Murder-Suicide
A group of suspected home invaders opened fire on police as they ran from the scene of the crime, police said on Monday afternoon.
Officers say the three people attempted a home invasion just before 1:15 p.m. in the first block of Bruce Street, making off with a large amount of money. They were identified by police as Buffalo residents Gregory Bell, 29, and Martin Calloway, 36, and 26-year-old Amherst resident Rickie Robinson.
While on the run, Northeast District police say they encountered the suspects and were fired upon.
Buffalo police say at least one of the suspects opened fire on officers, although no shots hit their targets.
Three suspects were taken into custody, WIVB TV reports.
