VIDEO: New Orleans Officer Gravely Injured in I-10 Crash
A New Orleans Police Department officer was working an auto accident on I-10 Saturday morning when she was struck by a vehicle reportedly driven by a motorist under the influence of alcohol and gravely injured, according to New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Michael Harrison.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on eastbound I-10 near the Esplanade Avenue exit.
Officer Natasha Hunter, 31, a 12-year veteran of the force, is in a "non-responsive" state, according to Harrison, who told WWLTV she suffered a traumatic brain injury.
