Z104's "Z Morning Zoo" lured Michelle Dermyer into its Virginia Beach studios, with the help of her best friend, who emailed the station saying:
"My BFF & co-worker Michelle Dermyer and I listen to you every single day of our lives…" "… I want to do something that will make her smile, especially if it involved you guys! Is there something we can do? I want to make her feel like she still has us in this terrible time."
Trooper Chad Dermyer was killed in the line of duty March 31 during a training exercise in Richmond. He is survived by his wife Michelle and two young children.
Friday morning, Nick, Ashley and Shaggy, hosts of the Z Morning Zoo, surprised Michelle with a morning of gifts for her and her family. The gifts included a makeover and $1,000 shopping spree, tickets and meet and greet passes to this summer's Jason Aldean concert in Virginia Beach, tickets and a VIP experience at a DC United soccer game and a trip to Miami to see Adele perform in concert.
