Video: TN Deputy Struck by Car While Helping Motorist
According to Earle Farrell with the Sheriff's Office, Deputy Angela Winfrey was helping a driver on Austin Peay Highway near Old Brownsville Road around 11:30 p.m. Saturday -- when she was hit by another vehicle.
A deputy with the Shelby County (TN) Sheriff's Office is recovering after being hit by a car late Saturday night.
According to Earle Farrell with the Sheriff's Office, Deputy Angela Winfrey was helping a driver on Austin Peay Highway near Old Brownsville Road around 11:30 p.m. Saturday -- when she was hit by another vehicle.
"She has quite a bit of road thrash, and injuries -- she has injuries that are internal," Wilkins told WREG TV.
"We're all concerned. We responded immediately -- came down to the hospital to make sure she was alright," Asst. Chief Deputy Mark Dunbar, with the SCSO, said.
Deputies said the 17-year veteran has a broken leg, a head injury, and some scrapes and bruises. She is expected to fully recover.
