An Aurora, CO, police officer was shot Tuesday afternoon in northeast Denver.

The incident started at in Aurora. Police responded to reports that someone was shot. The victim was taken to a hospital where they later died.

Aurora Police learned that a suspect was in Denver. This led to a second scene on East 46th Avenue, in the Montbello neighborhood.

According to police, the suspect came out of a home and a confrontation with police happened. The suspect in that shooting is dead.

The Aurora Police officer was shot in the face, but has non-life threatening injuries, KUSA TV reports.
