VIDEO: TX Suspect Sets 2 Police Vehicles on Fire While in Custody
A Corpus Christi, TX, man is facing serious charges after he allegedly led police on a foot pursuit then set two police units on fire, reports KRIS-TV.
Police said it started Thursday after an officer stopped a driver talking on his cell phone while driving and then smelled marijuana and noticed drugs inside the car. Police say they handcuffed the passenger, but he got away from them, leading them on a foot chase.
Officers found the suspect and placed him in a police cruiser, and he allegedly set the police cruiser on fire. The suspect was then put into another police unit, and he was able to set that unit on fire while officers were addressing the media about the situation.
Police added he had a lighter hidden in his pockets.
