The NYPD will allow observant Sikhs to wear turbans and grow beards up to a half-inch.
Commissioner Jimmy O’Neill announced the new policy at a graduation ceremony Wednesday, modifying a decades-long policy that set beard growth at just one millimeter, the New York Daily News reports.
