The family of a critically wounded Detroit police officer is asking for assistance from the public on a GoFundMe page.
Officer (no first name has been released) Johnson was shot in the head responding to a domestic violence call for help on April 30.
During that call Johnson was shot by a man not involved in the domestic. The man was killed when Johnson and another officer returned fire.
Johnson is a married father of three and a 14-year member of the Detroit Police Department, WJBK TV reports.
