A Maury County, TN, Sheriff's deputy has died after a single-vehicle crash in Columbia Friday morning, reports WKRN.
The Maury County Sheriff's Department reported Deputy Jimmy Tennyson, a school resource officer, died from his injuries early Saturday morning with family by his side.
Officials said it appears Tennyson, 64, was traveling westbound on Iron Bridge Road en route to a local high school when he lost control of the vehicle and it went down a 35-foot embankment and struck a group of trees.
Deputy Tennyson is survived by his wife, four children, and four grandchildren.
