The Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook, “Chris was a beloved member of the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office for the past seven years. The Yancey County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved.”
Wednesday afternoon, the reward was increased to $1,500, WYFF TV reports.
Chris was scheduled to retire at the end of this year. He was a favorite at the Yancey County Humane Society, where Wilson sometimes took him to be bathed.
