A Lauderdale County (MS) Sheriff’s Department K-9 died Sunday of heat exhaustion in a hot patrol vehicle.
Sheriff Billy Sollie says K-9 Aron's handler went into the station to do some reports and left the car running with Aron in the backseat. The car was equipped with a high temperature alarm. The sheriff told WTOK the alarm did not sound when the vehicle’s engine shut down and the temperature inside reached dangerous levels.
