A Robertson County, TN, Sheriff’s deputy was critically wounded in a gun grab attack Wednesday while escorting a prisoner to medical care in Nashville. The inmate was killed.
Officials say the inmate grabbed the wounded deputy’s gun and shot him. The other deputy shot and killed the inmate.
“The inmate has been shot and is now deceased," Robertson County Sheriff's Office spokesman Ryan Martin told the Tennessean.
The shooting was reported about 1:30 p.m. and occurred inside a a medical office complex at Vanderbilt University, according to Metro police.
