Cleveland Officer Involved in Tamir Rice Shooting Fired
On Tuesday, Officer Timothy Loehmann was terminated immediately. According to the police chief, it was related to his employment history when he applied. Another officer was suspended.
Cleveland officials announced discipline for two officers involved in the 2014 shooting death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice Tuesday morning.

Officer Frank Garmback was suspended for 10 days and will go through additional training. Williams said the discipline was for the tactics he used when driving up to the gazebo at the rec center where Rice was killed, Fox 8 reports.
On Nov. 22, 2014, the officers responded to a male with a gun call at Cudell Recreation Center. When they arrived, they saw Rice holding what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol. Police say they ordered Rice to drop the gun three times before he was shot and killed.
The gun turned out to be an airsoft replica.
