A sergeant with the Berkeley Township (NJ) Police Department died unexpectedly on Friday, the department announced. She was 32.
Sgt. Alison Wray, a member of the Berkeley police force for nine years, suffered a stroke while she was on duty, according to her family.
"Alison was a mother of beyond belief, she often joked about being the stereotypical 'PTA Mother' and often was very eccentric, to say the least, about proper care for her children," the family wrote on an online fundraiser page to raise money for her two children, ages 2 and 4.
