A U.S. Marshal was shot and killed Thursday in Harrisburg, PA, as a federal team of officers tried to arrest a wanted suspect.
The marshal died at a hospital after the shooting. An officer also was wounded by gunfire, PennLive confirmed from sources. The officer's condition has not been released.
The shooting occurred about 6:10 a.m. in a residential area.
Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo confirmed to PennLive that one person had been shot by police. The condition of the person shot by police was not known.
The names of the Marshal, the officer, and the suspect have not been released.
