As part of Police Week this year, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund held the 1st Annual Police K-9 Memorial Service at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC Friday. The ceremony included laying down 24 roses for the 24 K-9s killed in the line of duty in 2017. The memorial service was attended by police chiefs and K-9 handlers, FBI agents, and dignitaries from around the nation.

The ceremony was co-hosted by the National Police Dog Foundation, Fraternal Order of Police DC Lodge #1, LA Rescued, and United for Blue.
