A female Chicago Police officer who died Tuesday morning after being found unconscious in her patrol vehicle has been identified as 47-year-old Vinita Williams.
Williams had been taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead less than an hour after arrival. It was not immediately clear what caused her to fall unconscious.
Williams leaves behind a husband and two sons according to the Chicago Sun Times.
Williams' death comes two days after another officer — 36-year-old Brandon Krueger — fatally shot himself inside a squad car in the parking lot of the same station.
