Georgia LEOs Shoot Man in 'Mental Distress' Who Fired Shotgun at Them

Spalding County Sheriff Darrell Dix said that his deputies are "devastated" at the outcome of the incident.

A woman called 911 on Wednesday evening to report that her adult son — 35-year-old Ryan Force — was in mental distress.

Spalding County sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene and attempted to talk with the man, who went to a nearby shed, grabbed a shotgun, and opened fire on the deputies.

Deputies returned fire, killing the man.

Spalding County Sheriff Darrell Dix told WSB-TV, that his deputies are "devastated" at the outcome of the incident.
