A police officer in the town of East Pittsburgh fatally shot a 17-year-old suspect just seconds after he fled a traffic stop late Tuesday. The car had been stopped because it matched the description of a vehicle “involved in a nonfatal shooting in a town a few miles away,” according to USA Today.
Allegheny County Police Superintendent Coleman McDonough said that during the earlier incident, the victim was able to return fire on his attackers, blowing out the back window.
The car at the traffic stop had no back window, and police found two semi-automatic handguns on the floor of the car.
