A woman has pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide by intoxication in the death of a Metropolitan Nashville Police officer.
Juli Glisson pleaded guilty Tuesday to the charge in the death of Officer Eric Mumaw, who died while trying to save her life. A judge sentenced her to serve 12 years in prison, the top sentence in that range. Other charges were dropped and Glisson won't be able to drive for 10 years.
In February 2017, police say Glisson was parked at the bottom of a boat ramp at the water's edge with her foot on the brake. Officers tried talking to her, and at one point police say Glisson asked what would happen if she drove into the water. Officers told her they'd have to save her, and that's when she put her car in drive, dragging Mumaw into the Cumberland River where he drowned.
