A sergeant with the Rosemont (IL) Police Department charged with armed robbery has been suspended without pay, according to the Chicago Tribune.
A 13-year veteran of the force, Sergeant Edward Karas is accused of robbing an Exxon station in Norridge and a Shell station in Park Ridge.
Should Karas be exonerated of the criminal charges and the internal allegations of misconduct, he would be eligible to receive back pay.
