As part of National Suicide Prevention Week, Boston Police Commissioner William Gross, the Boston Police Foundation, and the National Society for the Prevention of Suicide are launching a public awareness campaign aimed at reducing suicide by both officers and civilians alike.
According to MSN.com, Boston PD has not suffered the loss of an officer to suicide since 2016, but the department is taking a proactive stance in making sure that officers are aware of available assistance in the event that an officer is approaching crisis.
