The murder charge against a man accused in the death of Detroit Police Officer Fadi Shukur has been dropped.
Jonathan Cole, 19, is still facing charges of reckless driving causing death and failing to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death, which are both felonies.
Officer Shukur was struck last month while working crowd control at a peace vigil and died several days later. The alleged driver, Cole, fled the scene of the crime but later turned himself in, Fox2Detroit reports.
