Texas Officer Shot at Traffic Stop Released from Hospital

An officer with the Arlington (TX) Police Department who was shot during a traffic stop last week has been released from the hospital.

Chief Will Johnson said on Twitter , "Our Officer has been released from the hospital. He has significant challenges ahead but for now he is home."

The officer—whose name has not been released—was in foot pursuit of a male passenger who fled the stop. During the chase, the gunman—identified as 20-year-old Treshun Symone Miller—reportedly drew a 9mm pistol and opened fire.

The officer was struck in the pelvis.
