Suspected DUI Driver Charged Following Wrong-Way Collision with Connecticut Officer

James Crowther was reportedly traveling the wrong way heading eastbound in the westbound lane of a local roadway when he collided into the front end of the officer's off-duty vehicle traveling westbound.

A man has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, failure to obtain a Connecticut driver license after 30 days of residing within the state, and driving on the wrong side of the road after crashing into the vehicle driven by an off-duty officer.

According to CT-Post, 49-year-old James Crowther was traveling the wrong way heading eastbound in the westbound lane of a local roadway when he collided into the front end of the officer's off-duty vehicle traveling westbound.

The officer—who has 15-years of service with the department—was badly injured in the crash which occurred in late January. He remains unable to return to work.
