The Tulsa (OK) Police Department posted dramatic body camera footage to its Facebook page over the weekend, showing officers coming to the aid of citizens already hanging onto a man who had attempted to jump from a freeway overpass.
During the incident—which took place in late February—the first responding officer joined the two citizens already on the scene and attempted to talk and build rapport with the distressed man.
"When other officers arrived on scene they all lifted the distressed man back over the railing and placed him in protective custody," the department said on Facebook
The man was transported to a nearby hospital to assist him for a mental health evaluation.
"The good citizens that initially risked their lives for another, left the scene before we could get their information, the department said. "If anyone knows who they are, please contact us, as we would like to thank them for their heroism in this nearly tragic incident."
