Emily Petronella allegedly shot the 34-year-old officer in the shoulder Saturday when she opened fire through the back door of a dwelling in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago.

A woman accused of shooting and wounding an officer with the Chicago Police Department has been ordered held without bail on charges of attempted murder.

According to Fox News , police say 19-year-old Emily Petronella allegedly shot the 34-year-old officer in the shoulder Saturday when she opened fire through the back door of a dwelling in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago.

Petronella has been charged with felony counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault of a peace officer with a weapon, armed violence, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and manufacture and delivery of over 5,000 grams of cannabis.

The 34-year-old officer—who has not been identified—was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
