Florida Deputy, K-9 Wounded by Gunfire—Gunman Dead

A deputy with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and a St. Petersburg Police Department K-9 were wounded in two separate but related shootings by a suspect who fled a traffic stop, police say.
According to WFLA-TV News, a Pinellas deputy attempted to pull over the suspect—identified as 23-year-old Elijah Johnson in the early hours of Friday morning.
Johnson then reportedly fled, and a St. Petersburg K-9 unit was deployed to find the man. He then reportedly opened fire, striking the K-9.
A short time later, Johnson allegedly committed an ambush attack on an unmarked patrol vehicle occupied by Sergeant David Stang.
Sergeant Stang quickly pressed the accelerator pedal and existed the area.
Both Stang and K-9 Titan were treated at area medical centers for non-life-threatening injuries.
The gunman was later found dead with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
