The Topeka (KS) Police Department will soon have its headquarters building adorned with a mural intended to build a bond between the community and the agency.
According to WIBW-TV, an area artist named Michael Toombs was chosen to lead the design. Toombs has been praised for other murals in the area, including a 130' x 30' mural located across the street from the Brown v. Board National Historic Site.
A team of local artists and volunteers will complete the mural. They hope to start painting in May.
