An officer on his way to work lost control of his personal motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail Thursday morning. He was unconscious and unresponsive when he was found in the left shoulder of the freeway, and was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to the New York Post , the 42-year-old officer—whose name has not been released—had been with the NYPD since 2003.
