An officer with the Pueblo (CO) Police Department was shot in both legs and a suspect was fatally shot during a foot pursuit on Tuesday night, according to the Denver Post.
The gunman—identified as 28-year-old Michael Wray Hensley—was on parole at the time of the incident and had an active arrest warrant for a parole violation.
The officer—who has not been named—was transported to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery Wednesday. He is expected to remain hospitalized for several weeks.
