Two officers in New York were struck by gunfire—and the gunman was killed—when a gun battle erupted during a raid on a hotel in Westchester County on Monday night.
According to CBS News, multiple agencies were working with an FBI task force in seeking to arrest 42-year-old Samuel Galberth at a hotel when the gunfire broke out.
Officers returned fire, fatally wounding the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two officers who were struck were transported to a nearby hospital where they were treated and released.
