The Chicago Police Department—which has suffered three the loss of three officers to suicide this year—is hosting a two-day seminar to improve mental health treatment for police and other emergency responders.
According to CBS News, Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and Mayor Lori Lightfoot welcomed more than 100 mental health professionals from around the nation to Chicago on Wednesday to talk about ways to support officers, and help them maintain mental wellness.
The two-day summit will focus on officer wellness, peer support, and suicide prevention.
