Thousands of officers and police supporters gathered on Thursday for the funeral service of fallen Sacramento Police Officer Tara O'Sullivan.
According to CBS News, following a memorial service, a procession of more than 500 police vehicles made its way from Elk Grove to a church in Roseville where a private service was held.
Officer O'Sullivan was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call last week. The 26-year-old officer and had only been with the department for less than a year.
O'Sullivan is the first Sacramento police offer killed on duty in 20 years.
The man accused of murdering O'Sullivan has a long criminal history, with charges dating back to the mid-1990s.
