An outside consulting group called CNA has been conducting a racial bias audit of the Charleston, SC, police since February and is expected to continue interviews with officers until into the fall.
According to WCBD-TV, Chief Luther Reynolds said, "We know that we have issues and challenges when it comes to race, public trust, and community engagement, and a lot of different areas. We are embracing this audit, excited about it and it’s already yielding good outcomes."
The full CNA Racial Bias Audit Report is expected to be ready for public release sometime in September.
