A teenage runaway was arrested after he allegedly injured an officer during a struggle Wednesday night.
According to CBS News, police received a tip that the 16-year-old runaway had been spotted and upon arrival at the scene a physical struggle ensued.
The officer was injured leg and ankle.
The teen fled the scene on foot, but was soon found and taken into custody. He was charged with Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant, Evading Arrest causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Resisting Arrest.
The officer was transported to a nearby hospital with serious—but non-life threatening injuries—where he was treated and released.
