The father of a 15-year-old boy killed in a car crash during a vehicle pursuit by the Kokomo (IN) Police Department has filed a lawsuit against the agency.
The father of a 15-year-old boy killed in a car crash during a vehicle pursuit involving the Kokomo (IN) Police Department has filed a lawsuit against the agency.
According to ABC News, Travis Abston Jr. died in a two-car crash in Kokomo in September 2018 during a police pursuit.
A police officer with the town of Battle Ground alleged that Abston possessed a firearm with the intention of opening fire at a school, and a vehicle pursuit ensued into nearby Kokomo.
The lawsuit alleges that the two police agencies "engaged in a pattern of misinformation" following the 2018 incident.
Howard County Coroner Steven Seele has said that the boy was high on methamphetamine at the time of the fatal crash.
