Both individuals were transported to a nearby hospital.

The agency posted on Facebook, "Officer First Class Jonathan Smith #153 suffered two gunshot wounds this afternoon. He is in stable condition and is expected to be released from a local hospital later today."
The post concluded, "We appreciate everyone's continued thoughts and prayers."
