Colorado Deputy Shot Investigating Burglary, Suspect in Custody

A Costilla County, CO, deputy was shot multiple times while he was investigating a residential burglary early Wednesday morning.

The unidentified deputy was taken to a hospital in stable condition, according to the Facebook page of the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office.

The Colorado State Patrol reports a suspect has been captured.

Authorities identified the suspect as Jackie Wampler Jr., who was believed to be armed and dangerous, the Denver Channel reports.
