El Paso mass shooting Survivor Christopher Grant attempted to deter the shooter by chucking soda bottles at the gunman, but was then shot near his rib cage, he told CNN. He then ran to the auto department of the store, where he met his “guardian angel.”
CBP officer Donna Sifford helped tend to Grant’s wounds and got him to safety and medical care. “She was there for me. She never left my side,” he said.
Grant had the opportunity to meet with Sifford once again, as they reunited at the hospital Tuesday.
“This is my guardian angel Donna,” Grant told Sifford, adding, "I honestly think that you saved my life, I do.”
