According to KCRA-TV, 18 people with the agency—including police officers, animal control officers, and dispatchers—lost their homes in the tragedy. The department went from 21 sworn officers to just 11.
Officers who elect to lateral to Paradise PD will receive half of the signing bonus upon arrival, and the other half after a one-year probation period.
The Camp Fire was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history.
