Connecticut K-9 Dies in Retirement

A K-9 with the West Hartford Police Department has died from complications from lymphoma that forced him into retirement in January of 2018.

A K-9 with the West Hartford Police Department has died from complications from lymphoma that forced him into retirement in January of 2018.

The agency posted on Facebook, "The West Hartford Police Department regrettably announces the passing of retired police K-9 Jett. Jett began working along with Officer Tommy Lazure in 2011. The team was respected in the K-9 community and was well known in this state."

The post continued, "K-9 Jett was born in the Czech Republic in 2010. He was imported and trained by RenBar Kennels graduating as a certified police work dog with the North American Police Work Dog Association. He was less than two years old when he began working."

K-9 Jett and his handler received many accolades during their time working together.
