Former Missouri Lawmaker Blasts Warren for Tweet Claiming Michael Brown was "Murdered"
A former Missouri lawmaker—who is also a retired police officer—blasted presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren for a Tweet claiming that Michael Brown was "murdered" in Ferguson five years ago.

Former State Representative Jeff Roorda—who now heads the St. Louis Police Officers Association—called Warren's comments "offensive to every police officer in America" during an appearance on the Fox & Friends morning television show.
"Senator Warren is clinging to this false narrative. There's no reason to do that other than that it pays electoral dividends," Roorda said.
Warren had sent out a Tweet on the five-year anniversary of the Ferguson officer-involved shooting that said, "5 years ago Michael Brown was murdered by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Michael was unarmed yet he was shot 6 times. I stand with activists and organizers who continue the fight for justice for Michael. We must confront systemic racism and police violence head on."
It was determined following lengthy investigations, including one conducted by the Obama Administration's Department of Justice, that the shooting of brown by then-Officer Darren Wilson was legally justified because Brown had attacked Wilson, attempted to disarm him, and was charging at him at the time of the shooting.
